16th July, 2016  Saturday

This was my third day in Vancouver. Today we were supposed to have a welcome picnic up in the Bear Creek Park with all our host families. Yet, since it was too crowded, Mr McDonald changed to the plan to hold it in the open area outside the Bear Creek Church. After having lunch, we went to the lawn to play group games. At first, I did not understand the rules of the game, but after seeing the demonstration by the teachers and the first round of competition, I understood what I needed to do then. Each team member needed to transport a glass of water to the bucket. It might sound easy but we needed to wear a blindfold, and our teammates would give us instructions reaching the hoola hoop which we needed to hoola hoop for five times. We then needed to hoop with both feet over a short fence and rested our forehead on the top of the baseball bat spinning 5 times. After the group activities, my host families took us to a shopping mall to buy souvenirs.
